ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Dr. Pattie Gibson has taught courses in customer service, computer applications, business management, office systems, and educational administration and technology to university, community college, and high school students in Colorado, Arizona, and Germany. She received her bachelor's and master’s degrees from Arizona State University and her doctorate from Northern Arizona University.
Her business experience has progressed through a wide range of positions, from student secretary while in college to trainer and manager for IBM® to sales representative for both IBM and Papermate/Gillette® corporations on both the East and West coasts. In addition to teaching, she served as Dean of Instruction at Coconino Community College in Flagstaff and later as a tenured professor at Northern Arizona University. Over the years and continuing to this day, she operates a successful computer and customer service consulting and training business in Colorado, where she resides.
Dr. Gibson, a nationally recognized speaker at business and educational conferences, is also a published author of seven other textbooks, including The World of Customer Service, Administrative Office Management, Modern Office Procedures, and Office Skills. She enjoys interacting with present and former students, traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She has a grown daughter and son—each of whom are exceptionally good and accomplished people.
